My sister Lorna ...
|

345. Lorna in her garden |
Sewing and making objects with her hands is very important
to Lorna. "I am interested in patchwork and quilting especially
by hand. So far, I have made bedspreads, wall hangings and
cushions."
"Tapestry I also enjoy. I have made rugs, cushions, evening
bags and purses using my own designs. I especially like an
ethnic look."
"Recently, I made a cloth and cushions using wools doing
crewellwork. I like to add buttons and sequins. I have started
making jewellry using wooden and glass beads."

354. Phil as Earl Montararat in Gilbert & Sullivan's
'Iolanthe' |
In 'Iolanthe', the peers of the realm are all in love with
Phyllis, a ward of court of the Lord Chancellor.
But Phyllis is betrothed to Strephon, who is the son of a
fairy (Iolanthe) and an unknown mortal (who turns out to be
the Lord Chancellor himself!). Thus Strephon is a fairy down
to the waist and has mortal legs!
The peers become embroiled with the fairies in a complex
plot, but it all ends happily as always.

The dog Jema ...
|

346. Jema, a Hungarian Vizsla. |
A Vizsla is the Golden Pointer of Hungary (In the Hungarian
language the word Vizsla means 'alert and responsive'). They
make a loving family pet and also a good hunting dog. The
multi-purpose Vizsla is a hunting machine efficient with furred
animals as well as game birds.
The breed entered Europe from China into Eastern Europe during
the 8th Century with the nomadic Magyer tribes.
Jema was born in Newport. The breed is becoming popular.
She likes lots of attention but is also good at staying alone.
As well as normal dog food Jema loves to eat Cucumber, Beetroot
and Coconut. She loves walking and is very friendly with other
dogs.
